DIOON
D. TOMASELLII
We have one older plant available, it's
in a 15 gallon can and it's well
established and has a 5” bulb with 36” leaves. $650.
D. ( SP. RIO VERDE ) 1½ gallon
5 year old seedling, 3”x 9” pot
1” bulb 3 to 4 leaves $15.
D. ( ? ) We have not yet found any one who could tell us
what this Dioon is. It has been nicknamed Dickii by a friend and since
then the name has sort of stuck. The plant is pretty amazing since we
got it 7 years ago, it has consistently thrown a flower and full head of
leaves every year, plus it has thrown a small flower from the side of
the trunk that produced good seed. The main flower is very large and has
long dense brown hair completely covering it, plus the seeds are a
different orange color and the leaves are long and narrow and it has a 40”
trunk. We have seedlings from this plant for $12., we also have some female
offshoots available starting at $250.
A large female .D Merolae.
Dioon Rzedowskii this one has a 3” bulb and 48”
leaves.
At right - A Dioon tomasellii with
some nice E.horridus in the back ground , plants get very blue
in the shade, there goes the sun to get blue theory, these cycads are
under 78% shade and get only morning sun.
